I live in “Brasil”, the minimum wage here is a joke; poor and homeless children are used in narcotrafic and prostitution.
Some even get killed by groups of cops (“grupos de extermínio”), happened in the nineties (“Chacina da Candelária”) one night masked cops opened fire against more than fifty kids while they were sleeping around a church, I heard something like that happened again this year.
People in the northeast of the country live in worst conditions, equal to african countries, the disparity is just obscene.
Very nice discussion guys. Thanks for sharing that background info Eric … I especially liked how you tied it into the broader geopolitical scene.
